The annual implementation of the project for the release of the Saker Falcon is a fundamental measure for the restoration of this rare species, which is listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. The project holds particular importance in Russia during 2022−2024, as the country has faced acute issues regarding the export of accidentally bred falcons. The project provides an opportunity to increase the value of chicks raised in breeding facilities, both as a resource for preserving the genetic base of already extinct populations and as a foundation for the species' natural recovery. Since 2022, the issue of conserving rare falcon species in Russia has risen to the level of priority national tasks. The goals of the project are to replenish populations and restore the Saker Falcon in Russia, raise awareness, and organize measures for its conservation both domestically and internationally, as well as to conduct environmental education efforts aimed at preserving the biodiversity of birds of prey.
